Arizona House GOP: Governor Must Act Now to Secure Tax Relief for Families

Yesterday, House Republican Leadership is calling on Governor Hobbs to immediately convene a special legislative session to secure tax conformity and ensure Arizonans receive the full benefits of the Trump tax cuts.

As outlined in the attached news release, House leaders emphasize that despite the Governor’s recent public support for portions of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill—including no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, additional deductions for seniors, and a higher standard deduction—these reforms cannot be implemented without legislative action.

Lawmakers stand ready to act on day one, and are urging swift cooperation to provide clarity and meaningful tax relief for families, seniors, and small businesses.

House Republicans remain committed to delivering certainty and real financial relief to Arizona taxpayers heading into the upcoming filing season.
