Dear LD25 Friends,
This past week at the Arizona State Capitol has been busy as House Republicans continued working on several major issues impacting Arizona families, including pushing budget negotiations, prioritizing public safety, protecting school choice, increasing tax relief, and tracking Arizona’s long-term energy future.
While much of this work happens behind the scenes, these discussions will shape the direction of our state for years to come.

The Budget Fight Continues
While the state budget movement seems to have stalled, budget negotiations remain ongoing. We will not let up!
House Republicans are united in continuing to push for a responsible budget that cuts unnecessary spending, protects core services, and respects Arizona taxpayers.
|
|
|
We remain focused on a few key priorities:
- Government should live within its means
- Arizona families deserve tax relief
- Public safety must remain fully funded
- Spending should focus on real needs, not political wish lists
Although Governor Hobbs rejected the initial House Republican proposal, negotiations continue daily as we work hard for you. Every day, we move toward a serious and sustainable budget solution.

Keeping Arizona Communities Safe
Keeping Arizona communities safe means ensuring law enforcement officers have the support, tools, and resources necessary to do their jobs effectively while also making sure families feel secure in their homes, schools, and neighborhoods.
Safe communities do not happen by accident; they are built through strong leadership, accountability, and policies that prioritize law-abiding citizens over criminals.

Defending School Choice and Supporting Families
House Republicans also remain committed to protecting Arizona’s nationally recognized school choice program. Empowerment Scholarship accounts work!
Over 100,000 children are benefitting from taxpayer dollars following them to pursue the educational route that best fits their needs.
There is a lot of misinformation out there to make you think that ESAs must be ended.

|
The parameters that have been set are working. It is one of the programs with the lowest percentage (one tenth of one percent) of fraud, waste and abuse in our state and that speaks volumes.
At the same time, we continue supporting child tax relief for working families as rising costs continue to impact household budgets across Arizona.

Planning for Arizona’s Energy Future
Energy reliability has been a very important topic for me for many years and it is becoming one of Arizona's defining issues during this legislative session. House Republicans continue supporting an “all-of-the-above” energy strategy focused on affordability, reliability, and long-term planning.
As Arizona grows, conversations surrounding advanced nuclear technology, grid reliability, and infrastructure capacity will remain critical to keeping energy costs manageable and ensuring our state remains competitive.

Whether it is balancing the budget, protecting school choice, supporting law enforcement, or planning responsibly for Arizona’s future growth and energy needs, House Republicans remain focused on practical solutions that strengthen our state and protect taxpayers. |

|
| What should Arizona’s top priority be when it comes to new data centers coming into our state? |

Thank you for continuing to stay informed and engaged throughout the legislative session. It is an honor to represent you at the AZ State Capitol.
Sincerely, Michael Carbone Majority Leader Arizona House of Representatives
