Budget Win: Tax Relief, School Choice, and Fiscal Discipline for Arizona

Dear LD25 Friends,

Last week, House Republicans helped pass a state budget that delivers real wins for Arizona families, taxpayers, students, veterans, and law enforcement. It has taken months of hard work and we couldn't be more excited.

After months of negotiations, we kept our promise to secure a fiscally conservative budget that lowers taxes, controls spending, protects school choice, supports public safety, and keeps government accountable. This was our priority and we are pleased with that.

Lower Taxes and More Money Back in Your Pocket

One of the most important wins in this budget is meaningful cost-of-living tax relief. This is HUGE for Arizonans.

The budget includes $1.43 billion in income tax relief over four years, including no state tax on tips or overtime, an increased standard deduction, an increased child tax credit, a new deduction for childcare expenses, and retirement deductions for seniors 65 and older.

This matters because Arizona families are paying more for groceries, gas, housing, childcare, and insurance. This budget helps working families, seniors, parents, and small businesses keep more of what they earn.

It also fulfills an important commitment: taxpayers will not have to refile to receive the benefit.

Smaller Government and Responsible Spending

Access to quality healthcare is essential for the well-being of every Arizonan.

I have been actively working on several healthcare initiatives to ensure that our communities have the resources they need.

Protecting School Choice, Veterans, and Public Safety

This budget fully funds Arizona’s ESA program and protects parents’ ability to choose the best education for their children. School choice is working for Arizona families, and House Republicans stood firm to protect it.

We also continued our commitment to public safety. The budget keeps the 4% correctional officer stipend, provides supplemental funding for DPS, and increases local border support for county sheriffs.

For veterans, this budget continues our commitment to honoring those who served by supporting property tax relief for Arizona’s most severely disabled veterans. If someone sacrificed for our country, Arizona should stand with them.

To our critics, this budget is not perfect, but it is a major win for conservative principles.

It cuts taxes, protects families, funds public safety, defends school choice, reforms welfare programs, reduces government growth, and keeps Arizona on a stronger financial path.

Thank you for staying informed and engaged. I am proud of the work House Republicans did to deliver a budget that respects taxpayers and protects Arizona’s future.

Sincerely,
Michael Carbone
Majority Leader
Arizona House of Representatives

Dear Friend, Many people have asked me, "If you're not in a contested primary this year, do I still need to vote?" My answer is simple: Absolutely. Because while I do not have a Republican primary opponent, the July 21 Primary Election will determine much more than my race. It will determine the Republican nominees who will compete this November for control of the Arizona Legislature. As Majority Leader, I have seen firsthand what a Republican majority can accomplish. Together, we've passed...

Dear LD25 Friends, When I first asked for the opportunity to represent Legislative District 25 in 2022, I made a simple promise: I would work hard every day to make Arizona an even better place to live, work, raise a family, and build a business. None of this has changed and I am proud of the steps that we have taken together in the right direction. Four years later, I can honestly say that promise has guided every vote I've cast, every bill I've sponsored, and every decision I've made....

Dear LD25 Friends, Over the past four years, it has been a real honor to serve you in the Arizona House of Representatives. Together, we have made meaningful progress on the issues that matter most to Arizona families: protecting taxpayers, supporting public safety, strengthening our economy, and defending the freedoms that make our state a great place to live, work, and raise a family. As House Majority Leader, I've worked closely and tirelessly with our Republican majority to advance...
