Dear Friends,
As the legislative session continues to move quickly, House Republicans are delivering real results while preparing for the fights ahead.
Arizona families are feeling pressure from rising costs, uncertainty in education, and concerns about public safety. Here is a snapshot of what your House Republican Majority has been working on; and what we are gearing up to defend.

A Major Win for Arizona Veterans and Families
This week, the House overwhelmingly passed legislation sponsored by my office to expand property tax relief for Arizona veterans.
HB 2792 passed with near-unanimous support, a clear signal that protecting those who served our country remains a shared priority. At a time when families are watching every dollar, this bill delivers meaningful, permanent relief and reflects our commitment to honoring service with action, not words.

Reliable Energy and Economic Opportunity for Rural Arizona
We also advanced legislation to support the deployment of small modular nuclear reactors in rural Arizona. HB 2795 passed out of committee and clears the way for safe, reliable, and affordable power while respecting federal safety standards and public input.
These projects mean high-paying jobs, long-term economic development, and energy security. As Arizona grows and national competition intensifies, especially with China, we cannot afford to block innovation that strengthens our grid and our economy.

A Battle Ahead for School Choice and Parental Rights |
|
|
While we continue to deliver wins, a major fight is on the horizon. Union-backed activists have filed a ballot initiative aimed at dismantling Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program after repeatedly failing to do so in the Legislature. This effort would strip parents of educational freedom and force thousands of students back into systems families already chose to leave.
This push comes immediately after coordinated teacher sick-outs that shut down district schools across Arizona, disrupted learning, and left parents scrambling. The message is clear. When families gain options, the education establishment pushes back. House Republicans stand firmly with parents, and we will fight to protect school choice and make sure voters understand exactly what is at stake.

Election Update: Important Calendar Change |
|
|
Finally, an important update for candidates and voters. The Legislature unanimously approved, and the Governor signed, legislation moving Arizona’s 2026 primary election from August to July 21. This change ensures military and overseas voters receive ballots on time and improves election administration statewide. Please update your calendars and make sure candidate petitions are completed and submitted accordingly.

Arizona families deserve leadership that delivers results, defends freedom, and plans for the future. That is exactly what we are doing; and we are just getting started.
Thank you for staying engaged and informed. I look forward to keeping you updated as these issues move forward.
Sincerely, Michael Carbone Majority Leader Arizona House of Representatives
