Dear LD25 Friends,
If you have been following the Arizona Legislature, you know that over the past several weeks state budget negotiations at the Capitol have taken center stage. We take this responsibility very seriously because we respect you, your families, and your hard-earned money.
At its core, this discussion is about priorities: how we spend taxpayer dollars, how we protect essential services, and how we ensure Arizona remains financially strong for the future. This is not just talk... this is creating evidence that we can and will have a fiscally conservative state.

Recently, Governor Hobbs vetoed the House Republican budget proposal, despite the fact that it included meaningful tax relief, responsible spending reductions, support for public safety, and investments in services Arizona families rely on.
While we may disagree on the approach, House Republicans remain committed to continuing negotiations in good faith and delivering a balanced budget that works for all Arizonans.

A Budget Focused on Arizona Families
The House Republican budget proposal focused on providing real relief to working families, seniors, and small businesses. It included nearly $1.5 billion in tax relief over the next several years, along with measures to lower costs and increase financial flexibility for households feeling the pressure of inflation and rising expenses.
This is a huge deal and a tangible game-changer to how we handle taxpayer money at the state level, but also to your day-to-day quality of life.
The proposal also protected core government functions while keeping spending under control. In fact, the Republican budget spent approximately $800 million less than the Governor’s proposed budget. Again, more evidence that we can shrink government while keeping it functioning properly.

Protecting Taxpayers Through Responsible Spending |

House Republicans believe government must live within its means, just like Arizona families do every day.
That is why the budget proposal focused on:
- reducing waste
- eliminating unnecessary spending
- prioritizing programs that deliver real value to taxpayers
The budget included reforms aimed at:
- improving efficiency in government programs
- reducing long-term liabilities
- ensuring taxpayer dollars are used responsibly
It also avoided relying on unrealistic revenue projections or temporary funding gimmicks. At the same time, the proposal maintained funding for public safety, child services, childcare assistance, and support for vulnerable Arizonans.

Continuing to Work Toward a Final Agreement
Although the Governor vetoed the proposal, the work is far from over. House Republicans will continue working with Senate leadership and the Governor’s office to present another balanced budget proposal that protects taxpayers while funding the essential services Arizonans depend on.
As I mentioned it before and will continue to stand firm on this, our goal remains simple: deliver a fiscally responsible budget that strengthens Arizona’s economy, keeps government accountable, and ensures opportunity for families across our state.
Arizonans deserve serious budgeting, not political games. I remain committed to working toward solutions that lower costs, respect taxpayers, and keep Arizona moving in the right direction. Pray for me and the entire team. We are working tirelessly for you. We won't let curveballs deter us from our goal.
